Summertime... and the living is easy...
It certainly is this month with a huge array of miniatures - perfect for packing into a picnic - some rather splendid new gins, and the return of the wonderful Chateau Routas rose. The garden is calling me!
Of course, its also the time for our annual return to chanterelles and our forager George has delivered the goods once again. If you've never tried these delicious little wild mushrooms are golden buttery yellow, with a unique flavour that is slightly fruity. They're delicious simply fried in butter and served on some good sourdough toast with a sprinkling of parsley.
To finish things off on a sweet note, we have West Country's Large Meringue Shells. Top with Perthshire berries and a dollop of cream laced with JJ Whitley Raspberry Vodka Miniature or a measure of Caorunn Raspberry Gin.
And as if by magic, we now have strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries arriving weekly from Denhead farm. They arrive around lunchtime on Thursdays but I feel it's my duty to tell you they are VERY popular. Be quick!
Join us for a Spanish Ingredient Tasting with our supplier, Brindisa, on Friday 26th August from 10.30 to 2.30.
We're celebrating Spanish produce in the deli this month, including Spanish cheeses. Learn a little more about our wonderful artisan suppliers in this great video from Brindisa.
