Meet The Little Herb Farm

Meet Lindsey Anderson from The Little Herb Farm and find out about her passion for herbs, great new flavours and our upcoming Tasting Event in PB Deli, Perth.Intro

Hi Everyone,

We are passionate about local produce as you all know and this month’s Producer Profile is just a hop, skip and a jump down the road in Fife.  The Little Herb Farm is owned and run by Lindsey Anderson and true to the rules of a small family business, everyone lends a hand. From her 4 young children, Granny and Papa to the LHF Team (Scott, Lauren, Nicola and Danny), everyone rolls up their sleeves to help under the watchful eye of Harry the farm cat!

Here at Provender Brown we’re delighted to have been stocking Lindsey’s delicious fruit vinegars since almost the beginning (Try the strawberry vinegar with chopped up strawberries and ice-cream. Amazing!)  and so we were delighted to hear that it was The Little Herb Farm who’d taken over another firm favourite of ours, Dip Nation.

Lindsey bought out the previous owners back in March this year and although she has kept the recipes more or less the same she is in the process of tweaking them by using her own herbs, such as basil in the pesto dip, from her acre of garden on the farm just outside Cupar.  As well as this, she has introduced a new Peanut Satay dip which we’re delighted to tell you will be with us in PB very soon!

“We loved the Dip Nation taste and brand but we wanted to grab the opportunity to make some tweaks and bring everything in under the Little Herb Farm brand.  And so, we have spent the last few months doing exactly this and have just launched the new flavour and packaging in time for Summer barbeques and picnics.”

We always like to be front runners with new local produce and so we have asked The Little Herb Farm to join us for an in-deli tasting event on Saturday 23rd July. Lindsey’s trusty assistant Lauren will be here with their vinegars and dips as well as loads of great advice for using their lovely products...  Advice such as a few drops of the Rhubarb and Ginger Vinegar is delicious in a gin and tonic! (It really is, try it out!).

If you haven’t tried the Little herb Farm vinegars then you’re in for a real treat.  They are delicious in salad dressings – gluten free and fat free – and have virtually no carbs or calories The bottles have a really long shelf life and come in at under £4 each so they’re a great store cupboard staple.

Every bottle is handmade in small batches to ensure the highest quality. Using home-grown herbs and locally sourced fruit, these little vinegars will transform your salads from dull to delicious! If you can’t wait until the 23rd to pick up some top tips then pop over to Lindsey’s website and check out the great recipe section she’s created.
