Italian Wine & Cichetti Evening

Join us for a relaxed and informative evening with Nick Whyte from Liberty Wines and Pierre Leger and Drew Watson from Strathearn Cheese. Based in Perthshire, Pierre and Drew only started their cheese making venture in 2016 and their cheeses have already scooped Gold Awards at the World Cheese Awards and the Royal Highland Show (where Strathearn also achieved Reserve Champion Cheese status). Hear their story about the highs and lows of setting up an artisan cheese business, whilst enjoying a tutored tasting through six fabulous Southern Italian wines, each paired with a delicious tapas plate (or cichetti) from the deli.
At the recent International Wine Challenge awards Liberty Wines swept the boards, winning Italian Specialist Merchant of the Year, Australian Specialist Merchant of the Year, On-Trade Merchant of the Year, Large Agent of the Year, Educator of the Year and overall Wine Merchant of the Year. It is the 15th time (6th in a row) that they have won the Italian title, the judges declaring them to be "in a class of their own in terms of their Italian range".
