Top Five Scottish Gins January 15, 2018 19:14

We're often asked what our top five, or top ten, best Scottish gins are but to be honest it would be like picking your favourite child - even if you do know the answer it would be inappropriate to say!  And the truth is, we like them all at different times for different reasons. Gins for celebrating, gins for warming you up, gins for sharing with friends or gins for sipping quietly as you read a book.  There really is a taste for all occasions.

What I can tell you however, is that our best selling gins are the ones you see below.  All Scottish, all distilled in small, independent distilleries, these amazing spirits are testament to the skills and dedication of the artisan gin makers that have taken our country by storm.

Try them all, stir them up with different mixers and let us know which ones you'll be adding to your favourite list.  Not as easy as you'd think, I promise!

Rock Rose Gin

A gin with incredible flavour which is created by mixing together specially chosen local and traditional botanicals, Rock Rose is the culmination of 55 tasting experiments which is how long it took creators Martin and Claire to make it perfect. Eden Mill Love Gin

The famous Love Gin from Eden Mill is a pink coloured gin with an outstanding blend of local botanicals and exotic fruits. The two main botanicals are rose petals and hibiscus, which produced a pale pink gin which can be enjoyed diluted on or the rocks. When diluted, sweet vanilla and floral notes come out and this delicious tipple is a firm favourite for romantic nights or on Valentine’s Day.

Esker is a multi-award-winning gin produced in the Scottish Highlands. This juniper led gin has a hint of citrus and floral botanicals, and is best served over ice with a tonic of your choice finished off with a twist of orange zest.

Wild Island Botanic Gin

Originating from Colonsay in the Scottish Hebrides, Wild Island Botanic Gin celebrates the beauty of its island home with local ingredients used to create a unique taste of the Isle of Colonsay. Crafted in a century old copper still at Langley Distillery, British Wheat is infused with six native hand foraged botanicals which grow wild on Colonsay, resulting in a unique and delicious tasting gin.
